WordPress powered portfolio for a logo design firm in East Kilbride
We were hired to be the web designer on a new portfolio site for a logo design company that has just started in Glasgow.

We used wordpress to build the site and modified a pre-made theme to work like a portfolio style site that could show off the logo designs on the home page but also double as a blog.

I really like the idea of a portfolio with the blog. Especially using wordpress, that is cool. You can show off your designs, and have a blog all in one, and it is clean cut, which is good. good idea.

A blog portfolio is an easy way to get up and running quickly. Would not have thought to use WordPress though!

I really like that design, what software do you use to produce your websites? I’m guessing Photoshop and Dreamweaver? I love the way light grey and dark grey always seem to hit it off when put together, it always produces a very professional look.

Excellent work, nice to see WordPress being put to good use. I just can’t get enough of WordPress, i’ve been using it 6 months and it beats the competition by miles imo.

Is wordpress is easier to use than drupal?
March 13th, 2009 at 8:55 am
I’m not sure as I’ve never used Drupal but wordpress is one of the best developed blogging software out there

Man, I am really beginning to love your site… you guys do very good branding and web design. I have been doing graphic design and web design for nearly a decade and I am not often impressed, but you guys are good. Keep the great web design and blog posting coming… and you will have more fans that you know what to do with!

Simplicity works everytime. People like designs that are easy on the eye, without areas of the design competing for attention.
April 12th, 2009 at 6:55 pm
I quite like the simple style of the wordpress theme, you said you used a pre-made theme, was this one that you modfied from one of your own previous designs?
April 16th, 2009 at 7:03 pm
WordPress, Drupal, Joomla and other CMS providers are the coolest things out there. I’m still trying to learn the ins and outs of my WordPress blog but I’m starting to get hooked. There are a lot of features and options for flexibility, both for the designer and the readers.
April 17th, 2009 at 1:45 pm
Gosh, I didn’t realise there are so many ways to use wordpress, I need to start exploring more options.
April 17th, 2009 at 4:54 pm
I love your site – clean and simple.
I recently switched to WP for my own site. It feels a bit restricting after so many years of custom design but I am sure the benefits will show themselves soon enough. I like WP as a CMS for my customers.
April 24th, 2009 at 1:26 pm
Nice design.
I thought it’s impossible to make a corporate website on wordpress. As I can see now – I was wrong.
May 5th, 2009 at 5:41 pm
I love to see WordPress and existing templates used in this way. There is zero need in creating bespoke solutions for this level of business. Great results can be harnessed easily, while not negotiating on quality.
Good job

Great Logo, smart move using WordPress. I set up my company in Feb this year and spent ages thinking about a logo before settling on something obvious. Still don’t know if I am happy with it.

yep, i like the way you have kept the feel of a blog about the whole thing, much better than looking too much like a “site” if you know what I mean. Much more visitor friendly and informal.

I Agree, utilization of WordPress as your Portfolio Enhancer would be the best way out to show your skillset. But i prefer the Open Source to be installed on your own server. This would prove a positive impact on your viewers.
Although, WordPress is a great tool. No doubt, you can utilize it as per your wish and way.
